How 'The Polo Score' started and the thanks I owe....

I have always loved photography and polo in equal measures, so it was inevitable that eventually both of my passions would collide and i have been fortunate enough to have 'collided' with some really great people along the way. There are many people to thank but let me starts with the clubs which have allowed me access to this great sport.

My thanks go to Martine and team  at Cowdray Park Polo Club, for letting me fulfil my dreams at the club, where I am also a social member. Talking of Social members thank you to Angie, Paul, Sharon, Kisty, Julian, Claudine, Andrew, Andy and Sue  and all the other members of the CCH for all your support.

Thank you to Diana Butler at Guards Polo Club for granting me access to club during the polo season, it is greatly appreciated every year.

My thanks also to the teams at; Royal County of Berkshire Polo Club, Polo Club Domain De Chantilly, Deauville Polo Club and Katja and her amazing team in St Moritz. It always such a pleasure to visit these clubs and hopefully I will be able to add some more clubs  to this list when I retire....watch this space.

But there are also some very important people, without whom, The Polo Score, and UK Polo News wouldn't be the success it is today...

Tom and Ollie at The Three Moles at Selham.

Just a stones throw away from Cowdray Park Polo Club's Ambersham polo grounds, sits a multi award winning pub which serves great food and drink, but also provides a lovely atmosphere after a full days polo.  The chef serves the best roast dinner I have ever tasted in my life, don't tell mum I said that, but truly it is a mouth-watering experience and I still haven't got the recipe for their gravy which is extra special.  The pub aside,  Tom and Ollie have been part of my 'Polo Score' journey from 'Day 1' and I really do mean 'Day 1', in fact it was Ollie who came up with the name 'The Polo Score', whilst serving a pub full of customer during Sunday lunch!!The boys are my sounding boards, they listen to my hair brain schemes with a smile and encouragement , however outrageous.  Just ask them about 'The Tiny Chef idea'.  I owe them so much - thanks Tom & OllieSo, the next time you are at polo and need somewhere to eat or have a drink please pop round to see Tom and Ollie at The Three Moles, you can even get married there, and if you get the gravy recipe drop me a line...

Paul Grove, LRPS - Photographer

Paul and I met through Ollie and Tom, we sat down over a drink and I told him my plans for the Polo Score and I am pleased to say that Paul was interested.

I am  so grateful to Paul Grove,  for submitting work to our social media platforms, bringing great polo action photos of all levels to our viewers.  Please take a look at his website (click link below) www.paulgrove.com where you can see and order his photographs of polo throughout the UK season.
